Compare ACA Plans
Individual and family health plans purchased through the ACA marketplace must cover a comprehensive set of essential health benefits — including preventive care, emergency services, prescription drugs, mental health services, and more. Because these protections are set by federal law, all marketplace plans share a baseline of consumer rights regardless of which carrier or metal tier you choose.
Plans are grouped into four metal tiers — Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum — each representing a different balance between your monthly premium and what you pay when you actually use care. Bronze plans generally carry lower premiums with higher deductibles; Platinum plans reverse that equation. The right tier depends on how frequently you use healthcare, your prescription needs, and your financial flexibility if a significant health event occurs.
One often-overlooked factor is network design. Even within the same metal tier, a plan with a narrow network may restrict your choice of doctors and hospitals. Reviewing provider directories before enrolling can prevent unwanted surprises — especially if you have existing provider relationships you want to maintain.
